Love travelling!!

Vienna and Budapest

I'm home from my holidays...and i'm not happy. I find it very difficult to adjust back to my study life here. My one week in Vienna and Budapest has been the most enjoyable experience to date. A week of just being away from it all. I miss....

budapest more than vienna

Oh dear, seven days in those two beautiful two cities is not enough. I wish i had a month! And i really have to thank Andy for being such a good guide and gentleman through it all. And his good navigation skills!!
I loved Budapest more then Vienna. To be fair, this might be a biased choice as i spent more time in Budapest. Anyhow, i found budapest to be the real deal, less 'touristy like' to put it in another way, compared to Vienna. And more natural beauty, less Loius Vuitton shops. So, here's my short trip in a nutshell:
9th April 2008:
Newcastle to London Luton: by the extremely early morning train which costs a bomb. It's ridicilously expensive to travel to London. Let's just say that my flight to vienna was cheaper than the train to london.
Luton to Vienna: By easyjet flight, can't believe they now charge 5 pounds to check in a bag.
Reached Vienna around 3pm. By the time we checked in the hostel is was late evening, so there was not much wec ould do.
12th April 2008:
Off to Budapest by rail. See www.obb.at for train tickets from austria to neighbouring cities.
12th April to 15th April:
Bliss in Budapest, an extremely beautiful city. But also poor, as i came across many homeless people which somehow made me feel guilty every time i see them. The feeling of pity, sadness is overwhelming. Nobody deserves such a life.
And i'm now back in Newcastle, finding it extremely difficult to adjust back to life here. Especially with the sucky rainy weather...I really wish i was still in Budapest..
