My first full course english meal

Tonight i went for a 'school dinner'. It's organized as a kind of treat by the school of Applied Sciences for it's staff. A reward for being the fastest developing faculty in the university for the year 2007. So anyway, it was held in a hotel and since it was free, plus i won't have to cook dinner, i went for it.

People say that english food sucks. That it tastes bland, flat as a pancake. Well, let me tell everyone out there right now that.....it's true.

Before meal: Warm up in the bar first. Gulp gulp, hic

Menu

Starter

Warm goats cheese with salad

Comment: Yuck! It was torture swallowing all the cheese down

Main course

Beef steak with potatoes, mixed vegetables and Yorkshire Pudding

Comment:The potatoes and pudding was fine. The boiled vegetables bland! Absolutely tasteless. Where's stir fry vegs when i need them. Please pass the salt and pepper.

Dessert

Caramel puffs with chocolate.

Comment: The only dish i enjoyed

And lastly of course tea/coffee. With chocolate mints. Plenty of white and red wine to help yourself with throughout the meal.

After meal: Off to the bar again!

I wonder if the frequent trips to the bar is compensation for tasteless food..hmm. I'm drunk...
