Scotland

eArS gLUeD tO: Grey's Anatomy soundtrack

What a weekend!! Love it, i have never seen anything so beautiful. I am absolutely fond about Scotland, sigh. Wish i could go again.

I adore everything about Scotland. It's quiet quaint little towns, the charming capital of Edinburgh (my third time in Edinburgh, but unfortunately fate have decided that it is not yet time for me to visit Glascow), but the best bit which i so adored about this trip was the scottish highlands, the mountainous regions of Scotland. It's so beautiful.

The view was the best i have ever seen in my life so far. Driving along the road, surrounded by enormous snow capped mountains of different hues and sizes with rivers flowing from their majestic peaks forming ponds below was the best feeling in the world. I can't describe it. Wish i didn't had to drive so much though (as much as i missed driving), since i couldn't appreciated the beauty and scenery as much as i would liked to.

I would definately love to bring my mum there. She'll love it. It was kind of a cazy trip, but remarkable now that i think of it. Two days were definately not enough, it was more of a 'see and go' trip. But i think we drove around most of Scotland, saw lots of natural beauty. I can't remember all the lochs and forts we saw, but here are the names of places i do remember:

Day 1: Newcastle to Edinburgh, and from Edinburgh all the way to the highlands. Stopped for the night in Inverness. Stayed at Inverness Youth Hostel. I highly recommend this hostel. Very clean and reasonably prices (12 pounds a night).

Day 2: Left Inverness to the Island of Skye, linked by the Skye bridge. On the way saw Eilean Donan Castle, at Dornie near Kyle of Lochalsh.
The island of skye surrounded by it's vast sea was another highlight. However, due to the freaky weather (crazy strong wind plus rain), we didn't drive along the whole island. Wouldn't be good if the car was blown to the sea..eeps. On the way home, passed the town of Perth, St. Andrew, Edinburgh again and finally Newcastle.
