eArs GLueD tO: 'A little more personal' by Lindsay Lohan
Had the most tiring trip last weekend with my flatmates. We went for a two day, one night trip to Lake District. It's suppose to hold the honor of being England's most beautiful lake, and THE place to go to enjoy great scenery. Took three trains from Newcastle to Windermere.
Well, it was beautiful! The mountain scenery there was just amazing. However, not everything turned out good.
Number 1, there was not much time to do much once we were there. We wasted a lot of time walking from one place to another. It would really have been much easier if we rented a car. Unfortunately, none of us have a UK driving licence and i left mine in Malaysia. So we had to rely on our own foot, public transport and directions from other people.
Needless to say, the first day was wasted. In addition, everything closes early in winter as the day is short. We only managed to hop a bus to the town Kendal. Nothing much there, in fact, the whole town stank of horse poo. Truly..
The second day was so much better. We took a ferry tour around the lake. I loved that! Sitting on the roof seats, feeling the wind on my face, enjoying the mountain scenery all around me...lovely.
The ferry stopped at Ambleside. This is where the tiring part comes in. We practically hiked and climbed non stop to see the waterfalls. I was dead tired at the end of the day, especially since i had to carry my luggage with me. Ended this hectic holiday with a visit to Aquirium of The Lakes. It's alright, but i wasn't impressed much. Not worth the 5.50 pound entrance fee. I think that the Underwater world in KLCC is much better. (though i have not been there...)
Ran, walked, panicked...(it was getting dark). Caught the bus in the nick of time, (and the trains too!). Reached Newcastle safely in one piece. Would i do it again? You bet!
However, word is the town of Keswick is more beautiful than Windermere. Oooo...
This trip has left me with an extremely large hole in my pocket though..Whine.
