Time flies

It’s official. I have survived my second week of work, yippee! Hmm, although I have only worked 4 days last week. Last week has been much busier than the previous. The days just pass with a blink of an eye. Maybe because I am now more used to my working environment and have kind of got in the groove of things. Time just seems to fly at work. Before I know it, it is already 6, time to go home, but…testing not finished yet…eeps. I am still daunted by my responsibilities at work, a heavy burden.

Oh, forgot to mention. The department I’m in is filled with female staff. No males. All the chemists and technicians are females. However this week a new recruitment came in. I think he is the new R&D supervisor. Fresh graduate as well. The sole male in the department. Lucky thing!

Let’s see, I came late one morning. We are suppose to punch in by 8am but I was 3 minutes late. Punched in at 8.03. Do not know the consequences. However, according to ...ahem..reliable sources, we are allowed to be late three times a month before a nice fat warning letter from the HR department appears not so magically on our desk.

Went to Menara Star on Friday. How did it go? Well, I think I did alright, but not great. I don’t feel that I gave it my best. I guess my nerves got the best of me. The worst part was when I was asked if I knew where the university is located. The name of the place just slipped from my brain..Newcastle. I couldn’t find it anywhere in all four lobes of my brain then..sigh. And now I don’t think I will ever be able to forget this word. Four of us were short listed for the interview. Three girls and a guy. The other three people were just great. According to my intuition, I did not get it. I have a hunch that one of the girls got it. I sincerely congratulate the person who receive the scholarship :)
Well, the scholarship covers only tuition fees to do any postgraduate studies in applied science for a year. Living expanses are not included. I was told that I would need around RM 45000 per year to survive in the UK.

I finally found the time to finish reading my Garth Nix trilogy. One complain, the last page left me wanting for more. I can’t accept that it is the end of the trilogy. No more stories to read about Mogget or The Disreputable Dog. Well, i do have the upcoming Harry Potter book to look forward to. And good news, i recently received an email that i won a contest which i entered through the Malay Mail newspaper. I don't know how they are going to send me the prize. I hope that it wil not get lost in the mail..or i might cry, sob. My prize would be a CD hamper worth RM120 (jumping with joy). That's not very clear but i'm crossing my fingers that there will be a few CDs..
